Brief History of Verity Lodge No. 59
Verity Lodge No. 59 received dispensation to meet as early as 1889 and received is officlal charter from the M.W. Grand Lodge of Washington F&AM in 1890 just as Washington was receiving its statehood. This was also the same year Kent became the second city to be incorporated in King County, following Seattle which was the first. Early pioneers of Kent, such as David Neeley, William Overlock, Nicholas Martin were active in starting Verity Lodge No. 59. We still have records from those very first meetings as well as our original charter.
